The entertainment industry has always been an attractive field for young talents looking for fame, success, and fortune. However, many actors have also served in the military, putting their careers on hold to serve their country. From 1980 to today, there have been several famous actors who have served in the military, and their contributions to both the entertainment industry and the military should not be forgotten.

One of the most well-known actors who served in the military is Tom Selleck, best known for his iconic roles in "Magnum, P.I." and "Blue Bloods." Selleck served in the California Army National Guard in the 160th Infantry Regiment during the Vietnam War era. He rose to the rank of Sergeant before being honorably discharged in 1973.

Another actor who served in the military during this time period is Rob Riggle. Riggle served in the United States Marine Corps Reserve for 23 years, eventually retiring as a Lieutenant Colonel in 2013. While serving in the military, Riggle also pursued a career in comedy and acting, appearing in popular films like "Step Brothers" and "The Hangover."

Bruce Willis is another actor who served in the military, although not during a time of conflict. Willis joined the United States Army in 1977 and served for two years as a member of the 7th Infantry Division in Germany. After being discharged, he pursued his acting career and went on to star in iconic films like "Die Hard" and "Pulp Fiction."

Adam Driver is perhaps one of the most well-known actors to have served in the military in recent years. Driver joined the United States Marine Corps after the 9/11 attacks and served for over two years, eventually being medically discharged due to an injury. After his military service, Driver pursued an acting career and has since become a household name, starring in films like "Star Wars: The Force Awakens" and "Marriage Story."

Finally, there's Ice-T, the rapper and actor best known for his role in "Law & Order: SVU." Ice-T served in the United States Army for four years, eventually becoming a sergeant in the 25th Infantry Division. After his military service, Ice-T pursued a career in music and acting and has since become one of the most successful and recognizable names in both fields.

These actors and many others have shown that it's possible to serve their country and pursue their dreams at the same time. Their contributions to both the military and the entertainment industry should be recognized and celebrated. The sacrifices they made while serving their country should never be forgotten, and their success in the entertainment industry should serve as an inspiration to future generations.
