In recent years, there has been a growing trend of veteran-owned businesses. These are businesses that are owned and operated by military veterans who have served in the armed forces. There are many reasons why veterans are choosing to start their own businesses, and there are many benefits to supporting these types of businesses. In this article, we will explore the latest information on veteran-owned businesses and why they are so important to our economy and society.

According to the Small Business Administration (SBA), there are approximately 2.5 million veteran-owned businesses in the United States. These businesses employ over 5 million people and generate over $1 trillion in revenue. This is a significant contribution to our economy and is a testament to the skills and determination of our military veterans.

One reason why veterans are drawn to entrepreneurship is that they have a unique set of skills that are well-suited to running a business. Military training emphasizes leadership, teamwork, and problem-solving, all of which are critical to running a successful business. Additionally, veterans are often highly disciplined and have a strong work ethic, which are essential qualities for an entrepreneur.

Another reason why veterans are starting their own businesses is that they face unique challenges when it comes to finding employment. Many veterans struggle to transition from military to civilian life, and finding a job can be difficult. Starting their own business allows veterans to create their own opportunities and control their own destiny.

There are also many benefits to supporting veteran-owned businesses. When you support a veteran-owned business, you are not only helping the veteran, but you are also supporting your local community. These businesses often hire locally and contribute to the local economy. Additionally, many veteran-owned businesses are involved in charitable activities and give back to their communities.

In recent years, there has been a concerted effort to support veteran-owned businesses. The government has implemented programs and initiatives to help veterans start and grow their businesses. For example, the SBA offers loans and other resources specifically for veteran-owned businesses. There are also many non-profit organizations that provide mentoring, training, and other support to veteran entrepreneurs.

In addition to government programs and non-profit organizations, there are also many private sector companies that are stepping up to support veteran-owned businesses. Many large corporations have launched programs to help veterans start and grow their businesses. For example, Amazon has pledged to spend $18 billion on goods and services from veteran-owned businesses by 2025.

A great new Veteran owned business is opening in Spokane called Spokane Hot Water Tanks.  Their goal is strictly to replace and repair hot water tanks.  The demand is huge.  We look forward to their success.

In conclusion, veteran-owned businesses are an important and growing segment of our economy. They provide valuable services and create jobs in our local communities. As consumers, we can support these businesses by seeking them out and choosing to do business with them. As a society, we can do more to support veteran entrepreneurs by providing them with the resources and support they need to succeed. By supporting veteran-owned businesses, we are not only helping our veterans, but we are also investing in our communities and our future.
